review 1: "Night had come to the city of Skalandarharia, the sort of night with such a quality of black to it that it was as if black coal had been wrapped in blackest velvet, bathed in the purple-black ink of the demon squid Drindel and flung down a black well that descended toward the deepest, blackest crevasses of Drindelthengen, the netherworld ruled by Drindel, in which the sinful were punished, the black of which was so legendarily black that when the dreaded Drindelthengenflagen, the ravenous blind black badger trolls of Drindelthengen..."da cui si evince perchè certe storie fantasy, ed anche di fantascienza, diventino delle interminabili saghe da 15 volumi di 2000 pagine ciascuno.Non amo molto le parodie ma questa è davvero divertente.
review 2: Read as part of
... more the 2012 Hugo voter packet.Written as an April Fool’s joke by Scalzi in collaboration with Tor, if the title didn’t give it away, you know you’re in for parody from the first paragraph – a single 150 word sentence full of nonsensical creature and location names such as Skalandarharia and Drindelthengenflagenmorden. It has it’s moments, and you can tell Scalzi’s enjoying himself, but some of the humour didn’t quite work for me. I’m sad enough that I’d read the book / 15 volume trilogy if it was written though! less

My word, what a wankfest. Do Hugo voters have this little self respect?
