review 1: Longer review coming, but this is one of my top favorite books. I feel speechless, a first. It was gritty and real but wasn't the spiral pit of despair that some books feel like. You got an in depth, detailed, organic view of what diabetics go through and war vets fight through. Rich, meaty and enveloping. The relationships were natural, the pacing was perfect and the character development monumental. Absolutely fabulous.
review 2: It wasn't until I finished reading he book that I realized the book doesn't take place during the summer, yet the title suggests it does! That really bothers me, and it's obvious the title should have been changed, but clear either the author or publishing company or both just wanted to have the allure of summer as well as a pretty b... moreeachy, summer picture on the cover. That aside (fortunately I'm not rating based on that), I did like the book. The author alternated chapters with the point of view from the girl's opinion to the boy's, and I couldn't help but wonder if the author simply wrote what she thought a guy might say and how he might feel, or if she had some insight from a guy. I worry it's the first, which saddens me because women tend to think men have more emotions and deeper feelings than they actually do. I'd love it if the male character in this book really felt such deep thoughts and had such complex emotions. I also found at least three spelling and/or grammatical errors in the book, which bothers me because if you are able to get a book published, you should take the time to make sure it's perfect. And if it takes place during the school year, don't call it "The SUMMER I Found You." less
