review 1: Seamlessly blending styles reminiscent of Laymon and Straub this novel is steeped in dread. The cursed Carver estate harbours the darkest evil which brings down damnation and worse on all who dwell there. Wonderfully drawn characters and a chilling dread which pervades throughout the novel make this the book of the year for me and I have read some doozies. I highly recommend it to lovers of supernatural terror.

House of Skin is a dark ride down the into the depths of the corrupted souls that have lived in the Watermere estate. Intrigue and the ghosts of dirty deeds abound in one of the most gripping stories I've read all year. Who or what was Myles Car... morever and his deliciously deviant wife Annabel? And what has Paul Myles gotten himself into as he claims his inheritance on the haunted estate with a past so dark, the entire town fears it? Jonathan Janz scores again with another creepy tale of lust, murder and the supernatural. This is horror at its finest! less
