review 1: I think that this book would fit under realistic. Curveball The Year I Lost My grip is about a boy who a really good pitch and catcher. One day when his elbow cracks and he falls, all of that changes. Pete can't stand the thought of never being able to pitch or even throw a ball for the rest of his life. When he meets a girl in his photography class she changes his mind about his elbow being a bad thing.I liked this book because it seemed so realistic. This could really happen to somebody. I would recommend this book for people who like to read things that could really happen and like baseball.
review 2: Curveball: The Year I Lost My Grip "the photographer is my grandfather. the pitcher is me." Is one of my favorite books to read. The main character Peter, ... moreis a great baseball player and so is his great friend AJ. Soon time pasted and they were in high school. During they're time in high school Peter meets some girl in his photography class and in that moment his life will change, but that is not the only thing that is happening in Peters high school life, at home and away from school life he has a grandpa that is the person who taught and introduce him to photograph. Peter's grandpa has a memory problem making Peter worry everyday about him, but Peter's grandpa doesn't want him to tell his parents. With all of this going on it makes the plot very interesting and feel the emotion of the book all the way through it. Curveball: The Year I Lost My Grip is a young-adult fiction i would say the theme is romance as a reader, but at the same time Peter is facing many obstacles because of his uncles memory problem. There is a little of comedy in the novel because of AJ(Peter's friend). This book has a very good climax and has a very good plot twist so if you are reading this novel look forward to the ending of the book. less
