review 1: I loved this book. There were so many twist and turns it kept the book interesting from the beginning to the end. At first I wasn't sure that I want to read a book about someone getting raped. I thought I would go out of my comfort zone and try it. It was written so exceptionally well that the rape was not gone into detail but you knew it happened. It was a good suspense and heart wrenching novel. I recommend this book for a good read
review 2: "Proof" the first in Jordyn Redwood's Bloodline Trilogy is a chilling and enthralling medical and crime thriller that has your heart racing as the tension mounts. The story opens when a brutalized rape victim is rushed to Sage Medical Centre where Dr. Lily Reeves struggles to save her life and that of her unborn chi
... moreld. What she doesn't know is that she may well be the next victim on the list of a crazed serial killer who doesn't fear being caught. Woven into a story laced with mystery, fear, injustice, cruelty and bloodshed are stronger elements of friendship, redemption, self-sacrifice, love and faith. With her medical background Jordyn Redwood is able to write a plot that's realistic and filled with medical and scientific detail. Her characters are believable and have a complexity in their personalities that grips the reader from the first page to the last; their weaknesses and strengths emotionally riveting. Dr. Lily Reeves haunted by the emotional insecurity of her childhood is calm and efficient in her job, but struggles with relationships. Dr. Kadin Daughtry is a well-respected, honourable and compassionate OB doctor, a man whose faith is tested. Detective Nathan Long, a former FBI agent is a man with a bucket list of his past failures; a dedicated, shrewd and diligent investigator who's challenged to solve a mysterious case and in jeopardy of losing his heart in the process. Even the minor characters are notable; Dr. Dana Morrell, Lily's trusted, self-sacrificing and faithful friend; Drew Stipman, a kind, considerate man mistrusted and unjustly incarcerated; Ellie, Kadin's sister, a woman with a big heart who struggles to have a child and Meryl Stipman, arrogant and callous in her misuse of wealth and power. But, it's the villain and his evil that chills the heart, makes your hair stand on end, and elicits no sympathy, only anger and disgust. This is a story with twists and turns that keeps the reader captivated. I won one of Jordyn Redwood's books from Goodreads Giveaways and was so fascinated by her earthy writing style and the intensity of the plot that I had to read more. This is an exciting novel and I look forward to reading the next book in the series. less
