review 1: This book gave me chills. The artwork is mystical,strange and captivating. The stories freak me out though. Incredible...it made me feel awkward when I was done with it. Stories about falling stars and planets, anger, swallowing earth and universe whole, and letting an entire world of chaos unravel itself. I found this book by chance at the library and thought I'd give it a shot...well, I was impressed.
review 2: Beautifully made book, short graphic stories, mostly traditionally structured, playful and menacing, kids running around causing havoc, wielding their scribbled dialogue balloons like weapons. Yellow the primary color. Much eating of people, places, moons. A great retelling of the tortoise and the hare tale, recasting them as drummers -- "turtle keep i... moret steady" shall hereafter be the motto whenever I sense the least shred of schadenfreude playah hatin coming on. Overall, a fine little addition to my small yet growing collection of comics for big old kids. less
