review 1: Really enjoyed this impulse purchase from my comic book store guy. The back blurb describes it as "Ocean's 11 meets the Shining," and I think that's probably the best description possible. I also really liked the way the ghosts are drawn, as loose, wispy lines without any set form, if that makes any sense, but the art in general is good. And I really like that this first volume is a self contained story, so I can read more about further adventures if I want to, but I don't have to in order to enjoy a complete storyline.
review 2: There's something I find irresistible about a haunted house story. They're usually disappointing, but occasionally a good one makes up for the rest. This is certainly not a great example, but it's good enough to be fun in spite of goin... moreg a bit too far over the top in some areas while skimping on details in others. It's also nice that, while it ends in "To be continued..." there is nonetheless a full story tidily wrapped up within the first volume. less
