review 1: Beyond the Nightby Joss WareThe world is forever changed. The ocean is now in the middle of Nevada and zombie-like creatures patrol the night. Dr. Elliott Drake wakes up after a fifty-year sleep to find that things are very different, including himself. Jade is a woman who’s trying to recover from captivity and make the world a better place. When she meets Elliott, her world changes. Mystery abounds in this Urban Fantasy story. No one understands why the world changed but they are determined to find out and learn to save the few people remaining. Beyond the Night is the first in a five book series by Joss Ware featuring a group of men who were friends and survived the fifty-year sleep. This book sets up the rest of the series and should be read before the other books. Yo... moreu get to meet the characters in the other books, as well as learn more about the possible villains and the changes in the world.I loved the uniqueness of this new world. The characters had secrets and we are still getting to know them. Certainly a must read for fans of Urban Fantasy and post-apocalyptic books!
review 2: I absolutely loved and enjoyed listening to the free audiobook I received from Colleen Gleason, Beyond the Night by Joss Ware.Elliott Drake and his friends wake up to find the world desolate, changed, and fifty years later. A group of teenagers are being attacked by creatures called gangas and as Elliott and his friends go to rescue them a woman, Jade, comes barreling in riding bareback. Elliott is a doctor and has a gift of healing except there is a drawback, he takes on the illness and can inadvertently pass it onto someone else by touching them. Not only are there gangas and other animals to stay away from but also Strangers, hard to kill beings that look and act like humans.Read the highly recommended, awesome & amazing, suspenseful, thrilling, full of adventure and romance, paranormal story, Beyond the Night by Joss Ware, the phenomenal and talented author Colleen Gleason. less
