review 1: This book was ok. I did not like how the female character allowed her boss to manipulate her and demean her and she somehow fell in love with him. She was a much stronger character in the previous book so I found her self loathing a bit of a stretch. the ending was good. the characters seemed to find themselves and the story had a bit more realism. if you are looking for a lot of sexual encounters with a little bit of plot you will like this book. using mind a brooding and broken leading man but when the female character is a door mat it doesn't encourage good behavior from the bad boy. I just wanted to slap her and kick the dude in the nuts. I am glad they ended well though. there was just a lot of unhappiness between the two. happily ever after is always a good ... moretime.
review 2: I really like the first book in this series and was excited about this one. Ms. Ryan really knows how to write some incredibly HOT scenes. I loved how the H was completely consumed by his feelings for the h. I was originally going to rate this book with 4 stars but took one off bc of the H's actions towards the end of the story. I did not like how he behaved and the h forgave him immediately. He should have groveled and suffered more. When he reappears and apologized I was still really angry at him but the h believed in him so she accepted his apology. This didn't make any sense to me given that she has trusted men in the past only to be betrayed and hurt by them. less
