review 1: Well, this is one of those books that had many 5-star and relatively minimal critical, so I went ahead and borrowed it through the KLL.The premise of the book is what gets some stars; the writing and the actual story get no stars from me. Very abrupt. Fragmented style. Kinda. Works. But not completely. The main character is infused with the "I'll get new abilities at the exact moment I need them" variety, which typically displays lazy writing and lack of development. When I finished it, I was shocked that I was done. This is a very short read and makes me think this is a money grab. By that, I mean there is a conclusion and the book can stand alone, but it could also be the first few chapters of a novel. Not positioned as a series opener where the anthology, more than likel... morey, will equate to one nice, normal book with development, action and a real conclusion.I picked this book since it did sound interesting and the fact that Book 2 is also on KLL. Now, I will simply move on and find another book to enjoy.Read November 2014; Kindle edition
review 2: Allison Lopez is a psychic phone line operator, with a difference. She really is psychic, and her powers are growing thanks to a best friend who is a vampire. When Peter calls the line, Allison finds herself on the hunt for a child killer. She also learns a great deal about herself, her past and just what she really can do!Not a bad read, an enjoyable hour and half, and the twist?? did NOT see that coming! less

Good plot twist, but it wasn't enough to save this redundant book.
