review 1: I loved this book, it was set in 1890 in a small town in Ohio, an era I love. Carrington Leigh Brouwer is an orphan who accepts an invitation to visit one of her father's art students that she met while they were living in Paris. Augusta Galloway, Carrington's friend, is vastly differnt from Carrington, she has everything a girl could possibly want, while Carrington must work for a living. Carrington accepts a job in Mr. Galloway's Carousel factory as a painter. She is the only female employee and must face many obstacles before she is accepted. After a costly necklace is stolen from Mrs. Galloway's home, Carrington becomes the prime suspect. Carrington finally clears her name and learns what is means to be a Christian and rely on tbe Lord, plus she finds the man of ... moreher dreams, who is also a Christian, and they make their dreams come true. Books from Bethany House never fail to provide you with good wholesome entertaining literature
review 2: Great historical fiction read about one of my loves–carousel horses. It was wonderful to get a glimpse inside a carousel factory. In addition to that setting, I loved the fact that the story is also all about living the Christian life every day of the week and not just on Sunday. It also shows the importance of being a testimony to others in the work place. The book also had a mystery to solve. This book is definitely worth of five stars. It will be a book I will want to read again. less
