review 1: Absolutely delightful artwork! Read this out loud yesterday to 1st graders, and they loved it so much, we practically got lost in each scene, looking at every picture. So many fun hidden extras, and not even that hidden... the expressions on the faces of the disgruntled neighbors, their "protest" signs, the worms eating an elegant dinner by candle light in the dirt...the one worm talking to his own hind end, hilarious! So many gorgeous details to look for, and extra little tidbits to read on every page. Plus a great story overall. Two enthusiastic thumbs up.

It's delivered in a cute, energetic rhyme. The only reason I didn't give this book a 5-star review is because the rhythm of the text at times falters and doesn't flow as well as I'd like. It's almost as if you stumble at times. Other than this, EIEIO: How Old MacDonald Got His Farm is a great book to read to young children to introduce the values of being green. less
