review 1: My five-year-old son picked this book out from the library today. Chicka-Chicka, Boom, Boom! it's not, but it still is a good book for the alphabet. The lower case letter go through a bedtime ritual that is pretty universal to all preschoolers and toddlers. And each element of the ritual features an activity with a word whose beginning letter matches the lower case letter performing the task, so that was fun. The illustrations are charming and delightful, and help enhance the text.
review 2: The Sleepy Alphabet by Judy Sierra is a great book to teach toddlers the alphabet. Her book uses rhymes and fun characters which grab kids attention and also the readers as he or she is reading aloud. The Sleepy Alphabet is creatively illustrated by Melissa Sweet. The ex
... moreaggerated and magnified faces on each letter of the alphabet make this book hilarious and a joy to read! The Sleepy Alphabet really gets the job done teaching young children how to learn the alphabet in a pleasant fashion. one unique strategy in which Sierra got the lesson across is by pairing each alphabet character with an adjective of what they were doing in the story before bedtime.each adjective started with the same letter as the character being described. For example, my favorite combination in the story is, "F is full of fidgety wiggles. G has got the googly giggles". Throughout the story, kids can also relate to a lot of these characteristics of each character before bed. Judy Sierra does a great job making the story real and enjoyable for children before they get ready to sleep and leaves them with knowledge that they can ponder on while resting. This book is a great one and should be read often to get kids started learning the alphabet! less

Better than Chicka Chicka Boom Boom in my opinion. But I suppose the artwork is not as creative.
