review 1: I enjoyed this book that combined the horse-racing world with the film industry. Grant is a Hollywood producer in charge of a film that will spotlight Tessa Barrington's father's career and life. It is set on the Barrington horse farm in Virginia. Tessa is a jockey driven to be the best and be the first woman jockey to win the Kentucky Derby. Her sister Cassie is the horse trainer. Their father is a legendary horse owner whose horse has won the triple crown in the past. Their mother died some time ago, and this leaves both women with a hole in their lives where she should be. In fact, Tessa had promised her mother to guard her virginity until she found the right man. So far, Tessa has kept her promise, but the minute she sees Grant, she knows she's in danger of losing the ... morebattle and her heart.Grant knows he's in trouble too. Due to some indiscretions in the past, he's got a clause in his contract that prevents him from getting romantically involved with anyone working with the film. And thanks to a devastating accident in his past, he's also very uncomfortable being around horses. This relationship has a lot of obstacles to overcome!Familiar characters from Bennett's Hollywood series show up in this book. There are also some hints of shady activity that may be explored in the rest of this series.I would have liked more detail about the training and racing, especially Tessa's emotions and strategy as she rode in the big race.
review 2: Jules Bennett delivers another great book. When Opposites Attract has it all, a charming, sexy, secretive man, Grant Carter, who is co-producing a film about horse racing icon Damon Barrington. Included in his agreement is a clause of NO fraternizing with anyone associated with the film. Enter Tessa Barrington daughter of Damon, Tessa is a jockey for the family and wants to win the Triple Crown and has no time for a serious relationship. Tessa is also gun-shy having been burnt in the past by a charming man. Damon arrives ahead of the rest of the crew to scope out the area and upon meeting Tessa is instantly turned on by her but he still has the clause to remember. Tessa doesn't want to be but she is attracted to Grant also. So what do they do about it?? Get the book for what happens next, you will not be disappointed. You will find out why Grant has guilty feelings and what his secret. And you will also find out what he is willing to do to find his HEA to be with Tessa. Also(the question) does Tessa win any of the races in the Triple Crown? Books by Jules has not disappointed me yet, she is a wonderful author.I received a complimentary early copy from the author for a honest review but I would have purchased this book anyway, Jules's books are an automatic purchase for me!! less
