review 1: I was given a e-copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. This book combines two of my sons favorite things, sweet treats and pirates. My 5 year old loved this book. It kept his attention from beginning to end, which is hard with some books due to his adhd and autistic tendencies. We shared many laughs during this book. The book has great rhyming schemes, humor, and amazing illustrations. I see us enjoying this book over and over. Anything that gets my son involved with the story and keeps his attention deserves 5 stars, plus some! Another great kids read by this author. She has left us hungry for more great books. For ages 3-6 and the parents that like to accompany them on their adventure. Originally posted on The Mystical World of Book Revi... moreews.
review 2: Pie-Rits by Julia Dweck is a scrumptious adventure on the high sea. "Cherry Cupcake has one tiny wish. She dreams of being rescued by a prince right off her dish." One day, to her delight, a charming French bread named Pierre sweeps her off her feet. Pierre tells Cherry that he is on a quest to recover stolen dough from the evil Pie-Rits. Cherry has never sailed on a ship before and excitedly accepts Pierre's invitation to join him and his friend Victor, the crescent roll. The group quickly locates the Pie-Rits and boards their ship prepared to fight for the stolen dough. Can Cherry and her friends defeat the Pie-Rits? Has Cherry finally found her prince charming?Children will love the rhyming humor and will delight in the battle of flying berries and slippery defeat which are creatively captured through the illustrations of Fian Arroyo.Pie-Rits is a swashbuckling experience you won't want to miss. less

My son likes this book even though he is too little to get all the play on words.
