review 1: This book had me guessing until the end. Every time I thought I knew who the culprit was there was another twist in the plot. I had not read the previous books in the series and I was glad to find that it wasn't necessary to have read them to enjoy Murder at the Mikado. You are given the history of the characters without being bogged down by the information. As I was reading I kept picturing the old black and white movies of the 1930's and 1940's. Lovers and spouses are called Dear or Darling and the intimate moments are holding hands and touching cheeks. Refreshing while not being corny. This was an enjoyable read.
review 2: As a fan of Agatha Christie, I loved reading this author's latest book. I felt as if I'd slipped back in time to another age (Downton Abb
... moreey fans take note) filled with butlers and large estates, but more importantly murder. An old flame is accused of the dastardly deed, and Drew Fartherling can't resist saying yes, even though it nearly breaks up his wedding plans. Sounds mean, but good reasons keep him involved, and plots twists kept me guessing. I highly recommend. (I don't think the free copy clouded my judgment.) less

Excellent cast of characters (pun intended) and much fun. So glad for a lead-in to a next story.
