review 1: 4.5 stars! Ok so I really love this BROAD, Mia, she is tough, intelligent and a sweetheart! This instalment in the series was mostly of her story after leaving Calfornia, and what a story! She had so many unresolved issues from the past that it was wreaking complete havoc in her adult life. Some parts from book 1+ 2 pissed me off, like why did they never Google one another or try to find each other? I know the author kept reiterating that social media and computers were not the norm but seriously there were ways to find someone "back" then and computers have been readily available for many years. With that being said (sorry for the rant) the ending was great and now on to book 3....
review 2: 4.5-5 stars. Mia's story from when she left California and moves back
... more to New York all the way up until she reunites with Schooner decades later is a true journey. Mia may be younger than her peers but she is incredibly intelligent and can stand up for herself. When it comes to finding love, that's not an easy task because she thought what she had with Schooner was about as real and authentic as it could get and it turned out to devastate her in the end. Still, Mia clings to the all-encompassing feeling that his love gave her and compares it to every other relationship that she has. She meets some decent guys, some douche bags and one really great guy. I loved how supportive and caring her close friends and family were, all knowing that she deserved something or someone very special. When Schooner makes his reappearance back into her life, it's so obvious that their chemistry never died and that they are meant for each other. However, since so much time has past, there are new issues to deal with but I loved how devoted Schooner was to Mia. They make mistakes, too, and there are people who are opposed to them being together. Great book overall about second chance love and looking forward to seeing how it all ends. less
