review 1: Love this series, now reading Bad Son Rising. I happened on to the first book of this series, it was a free book, half way through it, I had purchased the trilogy, and loaned Bad Son Rising.I laughed, I cried, and I applauded BBC, A story of lost love, found love and a happy ending. The characters are so full and rich. the writing is clear and the pace is perfect. Julie Richman did an excellent job for first time out. Can't wait for her next book, whatever it is, I know it will be great.
review 2: I LOVED this series!!! I was glad to read this as a boxed set as their are Cliffies in this series. We meet a very smart and young 16 year old Mia Silver, a freshman in college who meets a very handsome 19 year old Schooner Moore who is also a freshman in college. ... more Schooner has a girlfriend he doesn't love who is a plastic Barbie. He becomes attracted very quickly to Mia and soon finds himself falling in love with her. CJ, the p,attic Barbie is very much threatened by Mia and stops at nothing to break these two up. She was very manipulative and Schooner being young, makes several mistakes... This forces Mia to unfortunately trust in the lies CJ gives her and Mia leaves Schooner without a trace.Schooner ends up marrying CJ and spends years and years in a loveless marriage constantly thinking about his Mia.During their separation, although Mia e called professionally, she leads herself down a dark path making bad choices, stemming from her separation from Schooner and her longing for him, as well as a traumatic event that occurred in college. We read about the relationships Mia had after Schooner, particularly one where she finally meets a nice man who brings her back to life... Only for us to be completely gutted! This time in Mia's life was difficult to read. Due to modern technology, Schooner finds Mia on Facebook and these two reconnect. They go through stressors of Schooner's marriage among other things... But this series was amazing! You will swoon for Schooner Moore and the love of his Baby Girl!! less
