review 1: A fun, inventive kids book that's great for advanced younger readers. The story is interesting and suspenseful, but not too dark or scary. The character development felt like it was just finally taking off when the book ended, which was disappointing. There seemed to be a hint toward a sequel so perhaps this was just meant to be foundation for the characters. All in all I would recommend this to young readers (7 or 8 and up) or an adult who enjoys an imaginative quick read.
