review 1: synopsis:kim has not been granted a fellowship in california, something he wanted in order to get far away from his parents, who would not approve of him being gay. to console himself, he goes on a diving expedition and meets up with shane, the diving master. when they end up sharing a room together, sparks fly. kim still doesn't know what he is going to do with his life, but being with shane takes him out of his misery. when they are stranded in the water by the captain of the boat, they swim for shore and shane gets stung by jellyfish. kim doctors him and when everyone is safe, heads home to florida. when shane follows, kim doesn't quite know what to make of it, but doesn't want to let shane go. what i liked: shane and kim. i liked that shane was ready and willing to tak... moree risks to be with kim. i like that even though he doesn't know what he wants to do, he's ready to be with kim. i also liked that he had so much more education than kim thought, and kept surprising him with it. i liked that kim lost his cool around shane, and when shane walked out, completely disintegrated. i liked seeing the relationship between kim and aaron and joey.what i didn't like: it felt as though there wasn't as much depth and story to this story. it was more about the individuals than the togetherness.
review 2: Well I seem to have a knack for reading K.A. Mitchell out of sequence. This is book number 3 in the Florida series. This one had to grow on me, when it did, it took flight. When I finished it, I was in love with both characters.Jay is a Korean trauma surgeon looking to move across the country to evade his parents and their attitude towards his being gay. Shane is a scuba instructor for a company that specializes in dives. When these to first meet, it's oil and water, but when their encounters become sexual, oil catches fire and water can't put it out. When the two are stranded during a dive, they begin to see their relationship as growing deeper. Shane is attacked by Portuguese man-o-war, nearly dying before Jay knows he can't live without him.Jay is a surrounded by walls he has constructed to keep his soul safe. Shane can't stay in one place for long or as he states not good at the relationship thing. It's is so rewarding to see them fight, love, and live with each other. It's a win win situation for the reader. Some big twists come toward the end, that was more for characters than the reader.I give this a wet suit full of stars. less

Really enjoyed this one - it was a refreshing break after all the angst I've read lately.
