review 1: This is a story of a set of twins, Dylan and Dare Williams. They are identical, but opposites in personalities. Dare is the nerd. Dylan is the one "not going to amount to much" from his family's point of view. Dylan wants life to stay as it is, but Dare has other ideas when he plans to further his college education that does not include Dylan. One night changes them forever, when Dare is brutally attacked on his way home through a cruising park near the UT campus. The attack is meant for Dylan, who had previously denied a man a hook up. Dare is saved by a UT athletic trainer, Mike Auriette. This act brings Dylan and Mike together. Dylan is in deep denial about his sexuality, and Mike is in a very deep closet. The attraction is volatile. Neither wants to give in or giv... moree up. Throw in Mike's roommates, one straight and one gay. Add Dylan's family, especially his older gay brother Aaron, who is a royal pain. Mix all the ingredients and you have an exciting, explosive read. Sometimes, I wanted to hug them, sometimes I wanted to punch them. I believe that was the point!. Once again K.A. Mitchell has proven to me why she is one of my very favorite writers, and why I just cannot get enough of her characters.I give this a college campus full of stars.
review 2: synopsis:dylan insists to himself that he isn't gay, although he has had gay encounters. when his brother is beat up in a trolling park, dylan is shaken up, wondering what he was doing there in the first place, and thinking that it may be about dylan. mike stopped the attack, and agrees to help the police in tracking down the perpetrators. he and dylan have an encounter in the bathroom before dylan's family gets to the hospital, and mike leaves. dylan's older brother takes his brother home, and dylan loses touch with his twin brother, something that had never happened before. reeling, dylan contacts mike, and they continue their relationship. mike isn't out at work, and when the time comes to identify the attackers, mike either has to walk away or come out.what i liked: dylan and mike. i liked that mike stood up for himself, and didn't let himself be a doormat for dylan, just being available whenever dylan wanted. i liked that even though dylan kept insisting that he wasn't gay, he couldn't keep away from mike, and kept going farther and farther with him. i also liked seeing joey and aaron again. what i didn't like: the story felt a little choppy in places, kind of abrupt. less
