review 1: Kailin is one of my favorite authors, but that never changes how I feel about the writing of a book. Kailin pens her characters well developed in this paranormal story with plenty of twists and turns to keep you reading. Other than the character 'Lux Collins' getting me a bit dizzy between her boyfriends, I loved the book. A nice easy read that is recommended for all YA and not so YA readers. This review is based on a complimentary copy from the author which was provided for an honest review.
review 2: Ok seriously.... I had so much hope for this book. I haven't been able to read a good angel/supernatural romance book in a while so I guess I shouldn't be all that disappointed, but still, the beginning made it look promising. I read the sample on amazon and I de
... morecided to buy it. Fast forward about a day and I am not only super frustrated and confused, but I was also seriously deciding if I had the patience or masochistic need to finish it. Safe to say that I kind of did both, but also did neither as I got to almost the end, but I just couldn't finish it. All of a sudden, the author pops out things that she hadn't mentioned fully before like Asher being a half angel or whatever which left me thinking "oh... and he didn't think of this before?" He just randomly shows up at the auction and is like "OH YEAH! NOW I KNOW WHO I AM!" Also, what I really liked in the beginning was the mysterious angel in the room with Lux, but then all of a sudden, Poof! after years, we don't really hear anything about him and the only thing we hear throughout the story is Lux questioning "is this the guy?" except she does this for EVERY F-ING GUY! I thought the demon slaying Lux would have more balls than to be so wishy-washy between guys. To make it easier on herself, the author should have just made it a less complicated love triangle than a love square that didn't move along that well. After about 3/4 of the way through, I still didn't get why the guys liked Lux (because she's beautiful? okayyy..... because she fights demons? sureee.... because she has the personality of a wet napkin? YES! clearly). Sorry, but she just bugged the hell out of me. Playing with guys and she's always sucked into their looks and their awkward confessions of love and passion (ok, if that were in real life... no wait, it wouldn't be because that's just way too awkward, random, and admittedly, creepy). I didn't really get why the hell they liked her and just from what I could tell about her, she is SUPER shallow and will throw herself at any and all guys/demons/nephilim/angels whatever.Oh god, reading the author's review in the reviews below made me laugh so hard. I don't intend to be cruel, but it was really funny to me how she boasted about the book when all the review under it talked about how much it sucked. Then she also says something about "When i met this young man when I was 19 and he said he wasn't human" or something was really.... PFFT. If you're a supernatural fan like myself, I'm sure you're always secretly holding out on this belief of otherwordly, beautiful, lovable beings who will sweep you off your feet, but SERIOUSLY when she wrote that in the review, I could help but think "...WTF? is she for real?" less

This was ok although the constant fickelness of Lux & her livelife was a bit " oh for god's sake !"
