review 1: One part of me really liked this. I love the tart with a heart of gold, falling in love, pretty woman scenario.Stiles was funny and scarred and in this the poorer communicator of the two.Derek was vulnerable and a lot more open than in a lot of the ficThe chemistry was amazing and the relationship solid, there was a smidgen of angst - it wouldn't be Sterek without it really. On the other hand it was slightly disturbing, the possessiveness, following and objectification of Stiles by Derek. But you know, it's a book about a werewolf and a hooker who fall in love, and its best not to over analyse, so the likey won.
review 2: Gah! So cute! Thanks to Nina's review I decided to read this story.Normally the whole pretty woman trope makes me gag. This story totally redee
... moremed it for me (ok, total exaggeration for effect) by mocking the trope. kalpurna has a great sense of humor. My favorite thing about this story is that Derek is ashamed of his preference for vanilla. I love it that vanilla sex is transgressive to the point that they both have to come to the realization that is both their special thing with each. Nice way to turn norms upside-down. I was wavering on the rating between 4 and 5, but I'm so happy with the story that I'm throwing my critical reasoning skills into the wind and they are slapping the 4 right out of my hands. Ta da, it's a five! :) less
