review 1: This is a great P&P variation. Highly recommend. Great plot twist, ample misunderstandings for D & E to suffer through. Then Darcy knocks Wickham out cold... what more could you want? They even pull one over on Lady C. (which is a nice change as I was getting tired of reading her rantings in other P&P variations). Happy endings all around with a neat little epilogue to tie up the loose ends. Makes me smile :)
review 2: I've read over 30 different Pride and Prejudice versions and I must say this is one of my favorites. I had a hard time initially deciding to read this book cause I didn't know if I could bear reading about Lizzys loss of a sister. Rest assured its not Jane but it still starts off very sad. It's amazing how death can bring people together though a
... morend this is what we see in this novel. And I'm not just talking about Lizzy and Darcy although the quest for them to find happiness together is the main story line in this novel filled with misunderstandings to stand in their path as always. Lizzy gets the sad news at Lydia has died after an accident the night she stays back at Hunsford to get away from Darcy's presence. Darcy instead of proposing finds himself at a loss as to how to help Elizabeth when she gets the shocking news. He offers his carriage to take her to London. She makes the acquaintance of Georgiana who turns out to be a true comfort and friend. Darcy realizes that Elizabeth has negative feelings towards him and does everything in this power to turn those feelings around. Then there is always Wickham to make things difficult! I loved Bingleys character in this novel, I oneself felt that he would have acted this way with or without Darcy's approval. I also liked reading about the Bennett's and how the loss of her favorite draws her husband closer to her. Even when Elizabeth realizes that she loves Darcys things go wrong - more misunderstandings of course. I loved how Darcys letter in the original comes from a differs source and it worked wonderfully! What a great novel about loss, finding love and recultivating love. Please read it! It won't disappoint! less

I think KaraLynne Mackrory has real talent for writing the most equisite romantic and tender scenes.
