review 1: I enjoyed the first novel in the series, "Temptation", even though I am neither a fan of young adult nor romance, so right off the bat this genre was not my usual read. I was interested in the Amish-English storyline, but this book really bugged me in a way that would take more time to explain that I care to invest. The writing is very decent, and that is a compliment. It's where the storyline goes in this one and the characters that make me not really want to read the third book. The storyline gets too unrealistic, cheesy, and overly dramatic. I want to feel something is believable when I read it, and this one really didn't feel that way during the last part of the book. Eh.

I was more impressed with Hopkins character building in this novel, however underlying issues with Rose and her lack of self confidence was still frustrating. I worry that a younger reader would have the impression it is more important to be in love, than to have standards and self sufficiency. There is enough oppression in the world, young female readers don't need anymore reason to feel inadequate, and I feel this book in some ways gives the impression giving away one's own lifestyle for love is okay. less
