review 1: I really loved this book! First off, it has a heroine (Brandi Collins) who is struggling to lose weight after being left at the altar by her fiance. She's faced with the dilemma of, mysteriously enough, dreaming about chocolate each night after grueling boot camp-style workouts with her friend, Heather. Those dreams are rooted in reality as she soon discovers, because her next-door neighbor is good-looking and mouth-watering-as-fine-chocolate Adam. Adam is more than an aspiring pastry chef; he's also a multimillionaire heir to his family's estate. It was especially refreshing to see a hero who knew his way around the kitchen. I loved the scenes where he feeds the heroine chocolate, and the descriptions of his creations made me want to look for some of the ingredients. LOL! ... moreThe story has humor, the love scenes are tasteful, and the themes in this book--accepting the person you are, pursuing your heart's true desires, as Brandi and Adam both did--are well drawn and touch the heart. One last note: I read this mostly at the gym. This book made my time on the treadmill fly by.
review 2: This book tells the story of Brandi who has swore off two things in her life; chocolates and man. And if you wonder why; here is the reason; She needs to shed pounds of herself to present a thoroughly “new me” in time for her sister’s wedding where her ex fiancé is the best man of the groom. However, the smell of chocolates seeping into her house late at night tempting her and realized that it came from her next door neighbor, Adam. What she never expects was the instant attraction between them other than the smell and taste of the chocolates. Adam on the other hand, who recently free to chase after his own ambition, is in the midst of preparing for a chocolate pastry competition and the distraction in the form of Brandi, is not something that he has been looking for. Yet it’s sizzled between them and as their relationship develops, the undisclosed identity of Adam is becoming more and more like a torn to their relationship.I like Brandi‘s character very much albeit her low self esteem. I was rather annoyed with her for allowing her mother to pass sarcastic remark without retaliating and manipulate her whenever the opportunity presents itself. On the other hand, Adam is the Mr Perfect; wealthy and good looking. And the best of all, his skill in the kitchen is just something out of the ordinarily. Overall, this book is an enjoyable read to me. less
