review 1: While on vacation over the holidays, I went to a book reading by the author, Karen Bergreen, and she won me over with her humor and intelligence. While this isn't a book I might normally pick up, I am so glad I bought a copy after the reading. I loved this book! Smart, funny, and truly suspenseful ... I ended up devouring the book in just a couple of sittings. The heroine of the book is totally lovable (while still wacky); I was rooting for her every page of the way. A fun and smart read. Would love to see a sequel!!
review 2: This year I have read a few books that I have really enjoyed - and this is another of them. This debut novel is a murder mystery with all the elements of a comedy. The heroine is a clever dysfunctional nutcase with a wicked sense of ... morehumour and suffering from a long term case of unrequited love. More information would spoil the story. I loved it, could not put it down and can't wait for Karen Bergreen to write a sequel. A must read. less
