review 1: This was a nice quick read that I found for free on Amazon. When I downloaded it I did not realize that it was part of a series, but that did not detract from the story line in my opinion since the author did a very good job of describing the characters and story line. This historical romance kind of reminds me of Cinderella with a few twists and turns. It was too short to get fully invested in the characters but had a good enough story line to keep me hooked for the duration of the book. The rest of the series will be going in my "to read if I have time" pile.
review 2: I read this book in about 1 hour. It was a quick read and not very good in my opinion. The heroine rescues the hero over a 2-3 day period. They end up sleeping together and get married 2 day... mores later. Love at first sight. Don't get me wrong the sex scenes were pretty hot and steamy but for me that was the only thing I really enjoyed about the story. Although the fact that she was a virgin and he brought her to the heights of passion 3 times that 1st night really wasn't believable. less
