review 1: Good book written as a series of intertwined stories about a bunch of families living in Tribeca. Specifically they're families that are not bankers or lawyers, so they stick together as a result of their sticking out. Anyways, it was very good, with each chapter starting out slowly, but growing more compelling as you read on. Maybe I took too long to read it (maybe two weeks?) but it was hard remembering all the various people and what (and who) they'd done towards the end. Nonetheless, a pretty good book if you enjoy stories set in NY neighborhoods.
review 2: Muddled. I'm sure the author has talent, judging by a handful of well-written scenes, but this kind of story loses me, quickly. The same thing happened for me with A Visit from the Goon Squad. Fract
... moreuring any narrative by jumping into the perspectives of all the main characters... killing any interest or identification each time... I think I just hate that mode of storytelling. And this really dragged. No adulatory blurb on the cover, and it's about yuppie parents in Tribeca? I should have known better. less

Lacks depth as a novel. This tale is about loft living in New York. So what?
