review 1: Not having read the previous installments of this series, I had a hard time following all of what was happening with the intrigue. I didn't have a good sense of several of the characters who were presumably more fully developed in the earlier books in the Redgrave series. I liked Zoe and Max, and I'm glad they didn't spend most of the book hating and mistrusting each other. I probably would have enjoyed this more if I had read the earlier Redgraves books, and if I had been able to read it in larger chunks without having to put it down and pick it up so often.I received this book in a Goodreads First Reads giveaway.
review 2: A lovely conclusion to the Redgraves series, What a Hero Dares was a wonderful romance. I really enjoyed reading this book, especially
... moresince I finally got to find out who the culprit behind the Society was. It was thrilling, romantic, and a great read.Zoe was a good heroine. She was a force to be reckoned with, both very clever and strong. I really liked her. I thought she was a lovely character.Max was also great. He was very sweet, and very loyal to those he cared about. Like Zoe, you definitely wouldn't want to get on his bad side, because he had both brawn and the brains to back it. I really liked him, as well. The romance was great. The chemistry between these two was hot. There were sparks constantly flying between this couple. And, they were also very sweet together. Even though they were both reluctant to admit to them, their feelings for each other were always clear. With both of them being so clever and strong-willed, they definitely met their match in each other. The plot was okay. I wasn't totally hooked. There were some parts where things just started to drag and I started to skim. But, for the most part, I was kept interested. There were secrets and surprises along the way, along with a reveal of the mastermind behind the Society. I definitely didn't suspect who it turned out to be. I really enjoyed the story and the ending was a perfect conclusion to both the book and the series. What a Hero Dares was a lovely historical romance. I really liked this book, from the mystery, to the romance, to how it concluded the wonderful Redgraves series. Romance lovers, this is a book you'll want to check out.*I received a free copy from the publisher in exchange for an honest review less
