review 1: This book was another first for me. I don't know that I have read a book that deals primarily with the spirit world. I really enjoyed reading Hacienda Moon. It pulled me in and kept me wanting more the entire time. I really enjoyed the characters. Tandie was a broken person who was trying to find herself again. She was a perfect protagonist in this book. KaSonndra Leigh did an amazing job writing Tandie. Leigh also left me wondering sometimes if Tandie was truly the person causing all the problems. Eric was searching for answers. When he meets Tandie and they are pulled to each other he seems like a very go with the flow kind of guy. Yes he is there for a reason, but he puts Tandie first so many times. I liked his character a lot.I also really liked all the spirits. Some w... moreere crazy and mean, others wanted to help Tandie, and almost all of them wanted Tandie's help. The setting was great, too. The creaky old Chelby Rose made the perfect setting for all those spirits to roam. Bolivia sounds creepy and exciting. The kind of place people would go to try and see ghosts. I think many people will truly enjoy Hacienda Moon.I received an e-copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.
review 2: This story albeit a love story has touches of the "Ghost Whisperer" and "Bound" dealing with spirits, reincarnation, possession and witchcraft. Tandie is a psychic who after nearly dying in a car accident, loses her visions and her job. She also suffers through a traumatic divorce with a cruel ex husband. Emerging as a broken woman dealing with the grief of losing her daughter Breena, Tandie decides to move back to Bolivia to be close to her childhood home. Trying to get in touch with her visions again she rents an old plantation house called Chelby Rose, a run down place in need of a lot of TLC hoping to seek solace in the peace and quiet of the country town. Then a chance meeting with an enigmatic stranger called Eric whom she feels drawn to and this sets off a chain of events that will alter their lives forever. She is a writer and as her book starts to resemble what is happening around her, Tandi starts to realise that she is more connected to the story than she first realised, strange things begin to occur. The house seems haunted and suddenly she is living these visions as if she were really there. This book was reminiscent of a good "who dunnit" novel with the author giving away tiny clues that would lead to another piece of the puzzle. Lots of twists and turns and at times I was holding my breath. I thought I had it all figured out but I was still surprised in the end. No one is who they seem to be and Tandie is starting to realise that the secrets that lay buried at Chelby Rose may very well kill her if she doesn't solve the mystery and break the curse in time. I really enjoyed this story, different from the rest and I look forward to reading the next book in the series. less
