review 1: I felt so sad for Fenton. I mean poor guy is just trying to find himself and feel. Fenton is born special. He goes off with his friend so he doesn't lose him and than is humiliated. His friend walks away and Fenton starts over lost and alone. He meets someone and thinks this is it and for awhile it is but that goes by the wayside as well. Fenton does get bitter. He gets angry but does in a way understand. So Fenton goes and goes but suddenly hears about someone who may help him. Help him feel. help him desire. help him love question is will he?I don't know but I am interested in finding out.Kate Aaron has written a interesting take on this lonely vampire who is just trying to feel something anything.
review 2: Glad this was free for my Kindle because I was very
... moredisappointed.Fenton is a young man who just doesn't understand the attraction of a sexual relationship. His friend, Alec, tries to tempt him into a sexual relationship. When they are discovered by Fenton's father the young men run away to sea. After two years of sharing a hammock and light sex play (but not actual sex) Alec finds another. Fenton leaves the ship, loses his virginity to a male prostitute, then is seduced (asexually) into vampirehood.Centuries pass in this short story before Fenton is intrigued by another creature. The story ends with Fenton happily looking for the fae prince, Skye. Not recommended. less
