review 1: I gave up after about 80 pages of one cliche after another. The protagonist, a woman who has presumably made it through medical school and residency in order to become an anesthesiologist falls apart, weeping and wailing at the mere thought of a malpractice lawsuit, and nothing can pull her up except the calming influence of a strong, confident man. Process servers hiss, women are bitchy, lawyers are aggressive, it just went on, and on. Maybe there's a story somewhere in there beyond those first 80 pages, but it wasn't worth continuing to find out, it reads like a cheap romance novel.
review 2: Very enjoyable book. I felt for the doctor and was disgusted at what Hillary had done. This was an easy read which I finished quickly. It also wasn't heavy in medical te
... morerminology, which is a plus for many readers. This is a peek into the world of a doctor stuck in a very hard place. As patients, it's a side of things we are often unaware. Scary that something like this could take place in an OR where we are utterly vulnerable! Hillary's selfish decision leaves a path of collateral damage. less

I loved the story, but think it deserved better writing than it had.
