review 1: I was drawn to this audiobook because the narrator, Jayne Entwistle, is one of my favorites. It's a fun children's book that is like a cross between Harry Potter and Alice in Wonderland. Three children in London find out they have some magical powers and there is whole government division, the SMU, that deals with magical creatures and covers up magical activities so as not to scare the general public. There is a talking rat, a talking cat, magical chocolates, an invisible elephant ghost, goblins, adventures to go on, etc. A little childish but a fun story.
review 2: This book was painful to read. It is better as a book for kids to read to themselves...but I chose this as a read aloud. The writing was so awkward and was in stark contrast to the high quality wri... moreting of the Farwalker's series by Joni Sensel which we had just finished prior to reading this book...I had to force myself to finish reading this aloud to my children, it was so bad.I doubt many adults would enjoy this writing style. less
