review 1: I wanted to LOVE this, and whilst I did enjoy it, so many things also really irritated me about this book!!! I loved Laura and her character development was amazing! Seth on the other hand PISSED ME OFF!! His stupid choices were so annoying and to be honest I felt they were unforgivable, he's definitely a hottie but he's also a selfish pig! So that really took away from my enjoyment unfortunately!
review 2: I was excited to read this because of several recommendations. I give this book credit for being different. The main characters are unlike any I have read before and the bulk of the story taking place in the mid 1990's is nostalgic. And while the idea of the story is good, poor editing really hurt this for me. A few typos, misplaced commas and strange se
... morentence structure made a few areas of the book difficult to read at times. I had a love/hate relationship with both main characters. Basically we have two very flawed (and quite frankly unlikeable at times) people trying to work their way around love. And as much as they pissed me off, I think they come across as very real. They did show a lot of growth by the end of the book which spans many years. My heart broke for Paul but I won't spoil anything by giving details. I think if you have read this author's other books, you will enjoy Room 212. My problems with the story are personal reflections of my taste. Clearly, I didn't dislike it or I wouldn't have still given it three stars. **And lastly, I have been asked this a few times and this is NOT a horror novel. Nothing scary, horrifying or even mysterious really. This is simply a contemporary romance of two very flawed people who need to learn how to love each other. less
