review 1: This wonderful love story that Kate Worth has written will grab the reader right from the start. Enjoyed the easy to follow adventures, the twist and turns of the main characters lives. It's has been a while since I read and enjoyed an old fashioned style romance. As for the amorous moments between Lord Finn and Lady Jane Gray, I must say it was written very well. Kate also did a good job on the secondary characters, you can feel their emotions too. One can't help but get attached to them. I sure hope that Ms. Worth continues the story. For when it came to the end, it felt like I was saying goodbye to a family member. Look into this wonderful book, you will be more than pleased.
review 2: I read this book because of the amazing reviews that it has received, and... more I was not disappointed. I am surprised that a recent review seemed almost strangely angry about it. A lot of time to spend on something you didn't like. I would hate that the rant would prevent anyone for taking a chance on this wonderful love story. The character development was fabulous and I can't wait to read future books about these people and their lives, and how they intertwine. I highly recommend reading The Promise, by Kate Worth, to anyone who wants to be swept away for a little while. less
