review 1: This is a picture book story of Ivan, a baby gorilla who was poached and sold to a mall owner in Tacoma, Washington and spent the next 27 years of his life in a 14 x 14 glass enclosure. After some pressure from people all over the world, Ivan was sent to live in at the Atlanta zoo in a more humane space and other gorillas. It would make a great compare and contrast to Applegate's chapter book "The one and only Ivan" which is told from Ivan's perspective.

This would be a great way to introduce elementary students to the chapter book version of this book.
