The months go so fast! Even the weeks seem to fly by. Hard to believe it’s time for another Short List.
This month I’m changing it up a bit. I decided to drop the Learning QAL goals. As much as I liked setting a learning goal, the posts felt forced. I couldn’t bring myself to get the November summary posted, which means it’s time to move on.
This month I will designate one project as a OMG. I’ve been thinking of joining the fun over at Elm Street Quilts for a while now. I was going to start the first of the year, but why wait?
I finished four projects on the November Short List, which has to be a record. I finished most the items on my household Short List too. It was a very productive month.
The Short List includes something old (UFO), something new, a handwork project and Creative Play. I started using this system in November 2014 to keep myself focused. I add and delete categories over time as my interests change.
Something Old – I’m quilting and embellishing the Snippet Butterfly top. I swear I’m going to finish it this month so I don’t have to post it again. Thanks to everyone for your positive comments on this quilt.
Something New – The bunny quilt. The top is done and basted, ready for quilting.
Something Else New: I have some small Christmas gifts in process. Only a teaser pic here because recipients read the blog. This is my OMG.
Handwork – This was a tough one. I went through my stitchery stash drawer and found this panel with unfinished vanity set pieces. One is stained, but I don’t care. I bought a whole tote of needlework items at an auction over ten years ago, and these were in it. There is also a long dresser scarf with finished embroidery in the same pattern. Does anyone know what the pocket shaped pieces are for? I was even lucky enough that all the thread was in the tote with the projects. My goal for this month is to finish the embroidery on the two pocket shaped pieces.
Creative Play – I have the third round of the surface design round robin to work on for Art Quilt Group.
The leader and ender project is ongoing.
So that’s my list. I have some extra time off with the holidays this month and few plans. It will be my big chance to finish things before a busy first quarter at work.
I’m linking to Elm Street Quilts.
