Faith Fairchild
review 1: This is a favorite series of mine. I like the story lines and the easy manner of Faith Fairchild, a minister's wife in Aleford, Massachusetts. In this installment, she is called to the bedside of a friend, Ursula Lyman Rowe, and elderly woman who is recovering from a bad case of the flu. She tells Faith that she has something she needs to tell her. Something she has never even told her children. The revelation sends Faith on a quest for justice. An excellent series!
review 2: ""I have to tell you something . . . something that happened a long time ago."" When Ursula Lyman Rowe speaks these words to Faith Fairchild from her sickbed in Aleford, Massachusetts, Faith has no idea what lies in store for her. It all starts when Ursula's daughter, Pix Miller, Fai
... moreth's best friend and neighbor, reluctantly leaves town for her son's wedding preparations. Pix knows that Faith and her husband, the Reverend Thomas Fairchild, will keep an eye on the slowly recovering Ursula. What she and Faith don't know is that the tale Ursula spins over the course of several weeks will reveal an unsolved crime dating back to 1929 and the Great Depression. At the same time Faith's minister husband, Tom, is having some problems with missing money in the church.I usually don't like books that go back and forth between the past and present, but the author did a good job not leaving us in the past too long before bringing us back to the present. less
