review 1: I was slightly nervous that I was going to find this book boring and not be able to finish it, but I was happily mistaken. Longshore did a wonderful job at keeping me interested and making me feel like I was learning even though I know this is all a very loose framework on history. History has always intrigued me and this novel has just made me want to read more. It also made me wish that history might have played out differently and the romance between Anne and Wyatt been completely fulfilled because it was so sweet and enjoyable to read. Loved their chase and it never got old or unbelievable. Can't wait to pick up another by Longshore!
review 2: I appreciated that this book attempted to give us a different Anne, an earlier Anne, on the cusp of something rathe
... morer than the tragic story that plays out later. I appreciated seeing a woman attempting to gain control of her own life in a world not at all in favor of that. However, some bits fell a little flatter than I would have liked. It felt slow at times, the urgency getting lost in the timeline. Overall though a very enjoyable read. less

Really enjoyed this telling of Anne Boleyn's experience leading up to her involvement with Henry.
