review 1: The year is 1911. In Charlotte's life everything is handed to her on a silver platter. Being the daughter of the wealthy owners of The Manor, she has never experienced anything but respect from her servants and her fellow heiresses. That is until fate brings her and the kitchenmaid, Janie, together and Charlotte is introduced to the life below stairs. It is a life where love can ruin your life, your job, and your reputation. When love is presented to both Charlotte and Janie, will they take the chance of love and friendship, or will the risk prove to be too high? If you like "Amber House" you may like this book.
review 2: i loved the historical details in this book, especially thoose about the servants and the servants hierarchy, but i think that the book
... more relied too much on some plot twists in order to create the story. I think that it would have been better if say Janie and charlotte had just learned to be friends instead of them being sisters, it seemed a little fake like that. i also would have loved to have understood the mother better and see charlotte really get along with her better. I feel like the not her real mother thing was too much of an easy out. But again i loved the historical details and especially the contrast between charlotte and janie less

I'm a sucker for Downton Abbey readalikes. This one was kind of meh, but it was still enjoyable.

Young adult stuff definitely but it fed my craving for Downton Abbey-like reading.
