review 1: Megan and Pesh are Godparents together and instantly attracted. OK. Megan only wants hot sex and Pesh wants a relationship. OK. So they decide to part ways because they want different things. OK, still feeling it. What I don't get is that Pesh continually tries to get Megan to spend time with him and Megan is continually saying "no, I only want sex". I understand why she was saying it,but she came across so mean and trashy. Pesh was appealing and likeable. However, I didn't understand why he would continually go back to Megan. He's an attractive guy with many admirers but he doesn't want them or casual sex. Well then why would he want Megan who says that all she wants.
review 2: This was a sweet read . I loved the characters pesh was amazing but I couldn't give
... more this book 5 because some things bothered me.Like being repeatedly mentioned throughout the book that Indian women are "In his world, women were bred to be demure and obedientI’m not a submissive Indian woman"That is very demeaning to Indian woman and the culture. As a Indian woman I can assure how Indian women and Indian culture is described in this book is not true at all and I found it very insulting. We are human beings we each have our own individual personality just because we belong to another culture does not mean all women are the same and with exact same traits. That offends me a lot and then there is the comment "in his world". Pesh represents an Indian culture . When I seen that in this series I thought great the author is introducing another culture. Lots of authors don't do that which annoys me but the author in this book like people in this society took the approach of look at me I am very multicultural. Yet they says things like in his world . Yes thank you very much for reminding me we are aliens from another plant. Then there is more like "customary for women to be in the kitchen". This is not true it is showing how backwards minding Indian culture is when it is not. It's just not fare due to new generation Indians are getting modern and frankly its not even about modern its about household living how every individual behaves at their home. Men cook so no it is not customary for women to be in the kitchen. My dad cooks then me or mum might help him serve or he does it himself . I hated this so much in this book it pissed me off. Then there were customs that really are put in place at wrong occasions. You do know Indian food involves curry so due to some curry being saucy no we don't just eat by hand. Think about it use common sense you would need a spoon to eat the sauce . Yes we eat with hands due to chapati like you would eat a burger. The left hand bullshit is not true either you can eat with whichever hand you use . You only not use left handed whilst participating in any form of prayers and taking sweets after the prayers. The pointing at dinner is not insulting its banter depending on if you were screaming your head off then pointing that would be insulting to anyone. At a engagement there is no flower wreaths that's at a wedding. All the things I have mentioned which too me has undermined me as a women who is from Indian culture but is born in Britain is insulting and offending. It is made to show in this book that Indian people's life's revolve around their culture and there culture sets there behaviour. That's is so very wrong we are individuals with our own thoughts, beliefs , needs . Yes we follow our culture but because we live in a modern society and our parents do not want us to be detached from our culture or our roots. As Indian individuals then it become our responsibility to follow culture so we adapt our culture into our lifestyle its not the other way round . We live our life's as any individual would want to with there own choices and decisions .The only reason I still gave this book 4 stars was because the story was good and I loved pesh character. So to fellow readers do not think all the customs and the way women are portrayed in this book is true. less
