review 1: I had five or six books I was trying to decide on for my next read. None of them were speaking to me so I went upstairs to the more neglected bookshelves and picked out a paperback that had been there a couple years. Glad I did! I loved the flow of the story and the inclusion of animals as beloved companions. The joy of furry creatures is definitely something I can relate to so this was a comfort read for sure:-)
review 2: Light reading was just what I needed for my nighttime reading. I'd been reading too many murder mysteries before bed an awoke with a nightmare more than once.. It wasn't frivolous but I'd call it a gentle story about how one woman awoke from her dream of a marriage to find she really didn't have one or at least not the one she really wanted. ... moreI loved the how her love of animals helped her get through the tough times... and lead her to know what she really wanted out of life. Shocked by her husband unexpected walking out and leaving them, mother and daughter realize that the problem wasn't them but him. Some great insight in this book. I went to sleep smiling while reading it. less
