review 1: I would even say 3.5 or maybe 4 stars, I actually liked this book! Did I think it was sappy? Yes, but somehow it worked for me. Was it predictable? Completely. I also have a rule that if a book makes me well up with tears it automatically earns an extra star. I got misty eyed pretty much every time Cassie talked about her mother dying or found another heart shaped rock, I'm a sucker for that stuff. Go ahead and make fun....
review 2: Any book with sparkle in the title has to be a lightweight, righr? Not totally true in this case. An easy read but wonderful and quirky characters, plus a well done storyline featuring a little girl who's lost her mother to cancer. Set in a ski town, the main female protaginists were a bit ho-hum but I enjoyed the secondar... morey players. You know the ending from the start but I enjoyed the ride. Would make a great vacation book. less
