review 1: tooo sweet, way too short. No dragons though, not yet. I only hope the Author would write and expand more on this academy school for paranormals, its really intersting. I like this book, the best way to explain the concept is a cross between all the YA novels involving schools and adult mm. Since majority of paranomals live for a very longtime, its not creepy when relationships manifest and progress. Looking forward to more and just found a new Author to follow.
review 2: I thought it was pretty good, though a bit more bulk would have been nice. I don't really care about the page count but some of the themes could have been further elaborated on. For one, Bayne goes from man-whore to potential monogamist in the blink of an eye for no apparent reason. I would
... more have liked to know what caused the change. Second, Lucas and Art have some serious history, but it's just glossed over. Why did they break up in the first place? I hardly even know what Art was beyond an illusionist. Both Lucas and Bayne has roommates who seem to display protective tendencies, but this isn't explored. And someone who kept Lucas scared for 50+ years is defeated in literally seconds. How? I was left with quite a few questions. I also thought that the sex scene felt rushed. Despite all of that it is well written and I did enjoy the story. I'd happily read the next one. less
