review 1: At the beginning I liked this, in the middle I was bored, and by the end I liked it quite a bit again. The first few stories seem like very typical wandering assassin type stuff without too much cleverness or heft. Too much of it made me wonder what all the fuss is about, but once things start getting longer, with some heavier themes and more intricate tales, I definitely dug this quite a bit. All that aside, the artwork is stunning and the use of weird setting close-ups and panels of quiet wilderness or brutal storms were welcome additions that really set the tone of the book. The art made me feel at times like I was watching a Kurosawa movie. I don't know that I need to read this entire gigantic series, but I'm very pleased at having read this... more one.
review 2: Honor comes in many shapes and sizes and Lone Wolf adheres to a strict code after he broke his original samurai oath. The best way to describe this work is to say it is genuine. If you think you've seen a one man army, you've never seen something quite like Lone Wolf. Think about it, balance out being an honorable assassin while teaching your child moral values... Simply brilliant. less
