review 1: I love this urban fantasy series. Charlie is such a strong heroine. She will do anything for those she loves, and proved it in this book and the last one. I was glad to see her and Hank finally hit it off. The story was smooth flowing and each chapter had me hooked. The action was intense. Someone was going to die. I could sense it and hoped like hell Hank was not going to betray Charlie. I couldn't stop reading, even at work. I would recommend this series with no hesitation.
review 2: Oh Kelly....WOW! I was floored by the story line this time. Our kickass heroine is on a hunt for the man she loves. Her partner/and would be lover if he hadn't been kidnapped and returned to his home world to be executed for a crime that is falsely purveyed by 3 witch sisters ... morethat are so power hungry they enslave a whole town and make them happy to be their unknown slaves. Charlie Madigan has been told by her government that a rescue is not possible because Hank has already been killed. Charlie cannot and will not believe this, so she continues on with her plan to portal to his home world Elysia. A world of such beauty that it is rumored to be the fact behind the myths of Heaven. Going with Charlie is an unexpected person of power and influence. All is not well in paradise, and not everyone will return unchanged to Earth, where Charlie must make a decision that could very well end her life. less
