review 1: Recovering from being tortured by the Malcontents, Robby MacKay retreats to a greek island for a much needed rest. He is also planning his revenge. On the island he meets Olivia Sotiris, an FBI agent visiting her grandmother. Olivia has taken a break from work because she is being stalked. A serial killer she helped put behind bars has become obsessed with her, tracking her every move and sending her stuff in the mail. Robby decides to help her discover who his accomplice is. He also wants to get close to her so he can figure out how to tell her that he is actually a vampire.This is a good addition to Sparks' Love at Stake series. Both the hero and heroine have obstacles to overcome. Olivia is used to feeling the emotions of everyone around her and knows when they are lyin... moreg. She doesn't understand why she can't read Robby and doesn't know if she can trust him. Robby, must decide if revenge against the Malcontents should rule his life. And, will Olivia accept him when she finds out he is a vampire. My rating: 4 Stars.
review 2: Meh. I realize this is book #8 in the series but I started with it because I like to live my life like a maverick. It was entertaining enough; I definitely did not go into it expecting quality literature. I was not disappointed.The characters were decent enough for this type of read except for Olivia, who was a total derpette. I got way tired of her flailing wildly and accusing Robby of anything and everything she could think of. That bummed me out because I liked her in the beginning.Everything relied on some pretty large coincidences so expect some eye-roll moments. less
