review 1: Another steamy, hot addition to the Bend Anthology! In this novella by K.I. Lynn we are introduced to Jared and Hope. They see each other during a quick visit to church, neither one able to deny the attraction they feel.Jared is taking care of his sick mother while trying to run a business with his b-word of an ex. She is looking to take him down while he is preoccupied with his mother's health. After seeing Hope for those few minutes, Jared cannot get her out of his head (or pants). There is something drawing him to her and he just doesn't know what.Jared runs across Hope again and realizes the feelings he has are mutual. He lusts after Hope and she feels the same about him. Jared approaches Hope at work and all hell breaks loose. Feelings are explored as these two... more try and figure out what they are doing.While we learn a lot about Jared, his past and family life, we don't learn much about Hope. Sure she lusts after Jared, with that description who wouldn't, but I am anxious to read more about her and what her deal really is. This is a sexy start to a great series!
review 2: I think this story had a lot of promise, but to me it just didn't deliver. I enjoyed the male POV, and the few sex scenes were pretty hot. Enjoyed the church setting when they occurred. However all the other stuff going on in the story, i.e. the business with the ex-girlfriend, mom's health issues, etc. was a major distraction and had nothing to do with the main characters. Not my fav in the Bend trilogy, sorry less
