review 1: I accidently stumbled across this book, I'm so glad I did!!!But she is my student is not your typical girl like girl book. Instead it takes us on a journey with Ms sexy Spicer (yes I have crush on a fictional character) a history teacher, who finds herself kissing her student one night unbeknown to her. Kiki doesn't only focus the book solely on Kat, but those who are close to her too. We get an insight into Kat's work life as well as her home life. I can't recommend this book enough. I've never spoken to a book so much in my life as much as I did with but she is my student. It's one of those books where you can't help but comment as your reading, especially when you just want them to get together right from the offset. The beautiful thing about this book is the lead up, d... moreo they or don't they??? The only regret I have is that I read this book in one night. I wish I had slowed down a little, but I couldn't help it I was hooked!!
review 2: First off I should say that I enjoyed this book a lot. A friend recommended it and although I was a bit uneasy about the subject matter I got a copy and read the whole thing in a couple of days. The characters are believable (apart from the head teacher) and the story was an interesting new angle on the pupil-student scenario that has cropped up several times in novels and on TV. All the way through I couldn't help but wonder what would really happen if someone found themselves in the position that Kat was in at the start of the book, and although I'm pretty sure that Kat does enough things wrong throughout the book to have at least been asked to resign, if not be kicked out of education altogether, the situation and her response to it was very believable. My gripes with the story are twofold, though. One is that the ending - like other people have said - seems very hurried, when I wanted it to build up a little more. The other is all the grammatical errors which litter the pages. There were so many missing or misplaced apostrophes, missing hyphens and spelling mistakes that after a while I started to focus more on them than on the story itself. If these things don't bother you then great, but I find them distracting and I can't help but think that this is where having an established publisher has a huge advantage over self-publishing. I really hope that Kiki Archer found a good proof reader before writing the sequel! less
